Legendary Tanzanian underground hip-hop collective Watengwa has officially dropped a hard-hitting rap joint titled “Wanakuchora”. Released under UnitedMasters distribution, the track stands out as Track No. 14 on their monumental comeback studio album, FULL ILE BARAKA.
The single “Wanakuchora” (Swahili for “They Are Watching You / Plotting On You”) features sharp, collaborative bars from prominent members and associates, including Double Y, ChindoMan, Yuzzo, and Dwee. Clocking in at 3 minutes and 11 seconds, the song delivers authentic street realism, raw lyricism, and cautionary street philosophy about fake friends and hidden enemies. Rooted deeply in Arusha’s hip-hop legacy, Watengwa stays true to their foundational boom-bap sound, eschewing commercial pop trends for pure hip-hop expression.
