"Our goal is to see existing innovations transformed into productive businesses, employment and a real contribution to the national economy," said Japhary.

He explained that CRDB recognizes the role of the fashion sector in promoting small and medium-sized businesses, employment for youth and women, as well as expanding the scope of the creative economy in the country.

For his part, the Chairman of the Tanzanian Designers Association (FAT), Mustafa Hassanal, said the fashion industry has great potential to stimulate the economy through industry, trade and economic diplomacy if it is equipped with strong systems and friendly policies.

"Fashion today is not just a matter of beauty, but a strategic sector that affects employment, business and national identity," said Hassanal.

He added that for a long time, fashion in Africa has been seen as a niche industry without strong financial and commercial systems, a situation that has undermined the growth of the industry despite the presence of many talents.

Hassanal said the Tanzania Fashion Forum was established to bring together various stakeholders with the aim of discussing challenges and setting practical strategies to transform fashion from a personal talent to an official sector of the national economy.
