Bank of Africa Tanzania provides training to entrepreneurs in Dar es Salaam
Bank of Africa Tanzania has organized a workshop for entrepreneurs called SME Clinic, with the aim of providing financial education and business growth across the country.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop in Dar es Salaam, the bank's Deputy Managing Director for Business, Hamza Cherkaoui, stressed the importance of entrepreneurs in growing the Tanzanian economy in terms of employment and improving the lives of individuals.
"We are committed to ensuring that we empower small and medium-sized entrepreneurs by providing them with the knowledge, resources and financial solutions they need to continue to thrive," he said.
"At Bank of Africa Tanzania, we are committed to ensuring that we provide small and medium-sized entrepreneurs with the knowledge, resources and financial solutions they need to thrive. Through programs like the SME Clinic, we build sustainable and lasting partnerships with our clients," he said.
"With this year's theme 'Enabling Growth Together', we are demonstrating our vision to be a trusted financial partner that grows alongside its customers and the Tanzanian business sector", he said.
For his part, the bank's Acting Head of SME Division, said the bank's mission is to empower entrepreneurs by providing them with accurate knowledge and modern financial solutions.
He said that through the SME Clinic, the bank aims to build the capacity of entrepreneurs in better financial management while encouraging the use of digital systems to simplify the operation of their businesses.
Beatrice said the bank continues to offer friendly online banking services, including BOAWeb/Internet Banking and B-Mobile, while also utilizing its extensive network of agents to reach customers wherever they are.
Referring to the theme of “Enabling Growth Together,” he emphasized that Bank of Africa Tanzania is not just a financial service provider, but a close partner of entrepreneurs in their journey of sustainable growth and their contribution to the development of the national economy.
This year’s theme, “Enabling Growth Together”, reflects the commitment to working with entrepreneurs to ensure they not only survive in the market, but grow sustainably and contribute fully to national development. The SME Clinic in Dar es Salaam brought together entrepreneurs, Bank of Africa Tanzania experts and stakeholders from various sectors for a day of training, exchange of ideas and fostering collaboration.
The workshop is held annually and emphasizes its mission of providing financial education aimed at empowering entrepreneurs and supporting the growth of their businesses across the country.
The SME Clinic is part of the Bank of Africa Tanzania Financial Education Program established in 2021 pursuant to the Financial Services Consumer Protection Regulations of 2019. Section 19 of the regulations requires every financial service provider to provide financial education programs to its customers.
Since its inception, this program has successfully conducted these workshops (SME Clinics) in the regions of Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Mwanza and Kahama district and has already reached more than 800 clients.
This workshop also aims to improve customer business management skills, strengthen the relationship between Bank of Africa Tanzania and its customers, and encourage the use of digital systems and technologies to increase business efficiency.
